Storybook Character Parade March 2

In honor of Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss’ Birthday, Prescott will again be having a book character parade.  The parade will be on Friday, March 2, at 3:00 pm.   Kindergarten through fifth grade students are invited to choose a favorite book character and dress up like him or her and join the parade through our hallways.  We will wear regular clothes to school and then put on our costumes in the library at 2:45 pm.  We would like students to carry their character’s book during the parade.  If you choose a book from home, please send it with your child.  If it is a book our library owns, we will have it ready for your student.

If you are interested in having your child in the parade, please fill out the form that was in the Friday folder and return it to Ms. Ebeler by Friday, February 23.  Participation is optional.  Students who choose not to dress up will be part of the audience.  We also need adult volunteers to help students get ready.  If you have questions please contact Ms. Ebeler at

Note:  We want to focus on favorite book characters. Please begin with a book and be creative in designing a costume to fit the book character, rather than using a popular costume that does not represent a book.  Thanks!
